KORG AudioGate Overview
Originally designed as an audio format converter application, AudioGate was originally developed to convert recordings made with KORG MR series recorders into a format that can be played on computers. But today, it has outgrown its status as a support utility for KORG equipment and has gained the support of a huge number of users around the world. AudioGate 3 has been completely updated with a large number of new functions, as well as improved interaction with KORG DS-DAC series devices. It has received the ability to be used as the center of KORG’s hardware and software solutions in high-quality audio playback applications.
KORG AudioGate Features
The “AudioGate 3 Lite” program, optimized for playing various types of audio files, is now available for free download without additional authentication requirements. The “lite” version can be upgraded to a fully functional version at any time. To do this, simply connect a DS-DAC or MR series interface to the computer and go through the licensing procedure. After that, the user can use all the functions of the software. Thus, after trying out the “lite” version, you can decide on the need to purchase a hardware interface and update the software based on the experience gained. Detailed information on the models supported by the AudioGate 3 Lite program and the registration procedure is in a separate “Read Me” file.
- When playing DSD files within the Lite version, they are automatically converted to PCM files with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.

The AudioGate 3 software supports audio files of various formats, such as MP3, AAC, 44.1/48 kHz WAV, as well as high-quality formats such as 24-bit (96/192 kHz) WAV and FLAC files, not to mention, of course, the DSD format. The program allows you to work with playlists formed from files that have different sampling rates, resolutions and even formats. In addition to the DAC interfaces themselves, USB DAC hardware devices require software to manage and play audio files. Although the software used significantly affects the quality of sound reproduction and the overall performance of the system, it is permissible to use previous generation software or other popular programs, including free ones. KORG AudioGate 3* is the main program for the DS-DAC series interfaces. The installation procedure is extremely simple and there are no compatibility issues. KORG AudioGate 3 provides the user with access to all the privileges offered by the DSD audio format.
