Description
Blackmagic Design Fusion Studio Overview
Fusion is the world’s most advanced compositing software for visual effects artists, broadcast and motion graphics designers, and 3D animators. Over the past 30 years, Fusion has been used in thousands of Hollywood blockbusters and TV shows. Fusion features a powerful node-based interface that makes it quick and easy to create complex effects by connecting different types of imaging tools together! You get a wide range of tools, incredible VR and 3D support, accelerated GPU performance, unlimited network rendering, and more! Fusion gives you everything you need to create breathtaking broadcast graphics, dramatic titles, and even major feature film visual effects!
Blackmagic Design Fusion Studio Features
Create effects with custom templates
Fusion templates allow you to create any effects and apply them to clips on the editing and assembly pages by dragging them from the library. Once you have a combined image, simply save it as a macro, set the parameters required for display, and click Save.
Automatically change animation timing
These modifiers allow you to stretch or compress keyframes and add different types of animation. This is automatically adjusted when titles or Fusion effects are placed on the timeline and the timing of the composition is changed.
Synchronize animation with sound
Fusion now lets you play back audio from the Edit or Assemble page timeline. You can choose to listen to the resulting mix or the source clip track. The keyframe window displays the waveform for precise audio-synced animation.
Using Vectors
Vectors with different shapes (ellipses, rectangles, polygons, stars, and logical operators) make it easier to work with graphics when creating complex designs, while grid, shake, offset, and transform help to set individual animation settings. In addition, shapes can be used as sources.
GPU Accelerated ResolveFX Plugins
The Fusion page features 27 new GPU-accelerated ResolveFX plugins. They allow you to perform image denoising and restoration, sharpening, blurring, lighting and colour effects. In addition, there are tools for texturing and stylisation, time processing, adjustments and retouching.
Personalizing the workflow
Node structure tabs provide easy navigation to any element of the combined image, and customizable panels allow you to quickly switch between tools depending on the current task. Vertical configuration options free up additional space for displaying spline windows and keyframes when animating.
The world’s biggest blockbusters
Fusion is used to create a huge number of projects that are becoming the most notable events in the world of film and television. It was used to create the films Ant-Man, Red Sparrow, and London Has Fallen, as well as a number of popular TV series, including Empire, NCIS, and The Happening. Fusion also plays a major role in processing scenes from video games such as Dawn of War III and Halo 5.
More features
Fusion has a huge set of tools for important tasks such as adding or removing individual elements, tracking objects, overlaying titles, or creating special effects with particles. It is the best product for compositing, keying, painting, and animating in VR and 3D space, allowing you to perform a wide range of image processing in one system. In addition, it is possible to import and render 3D objects and scenes from other applications, as well as build your own objects from scratch.
Broadcast graphics and captions
Animated text
Powerful character generators allow you to add animated 2D or 3D texts and titles in any language.
Animated 3D graphics
Using Fusion’s 3D workspace, you can create incredibly deep animations that combine vector graphics, live action, and 3D objects.
3D particles
Create animated 3D effects where particles interact with real objects due to gravity, wind, and other physical phenomena.
Creating visual effects
Compositing in real 3D space
By combining live images, 3D models, and lighting in a 3D workspace, you can create stunning photorealistic effects and motion graphics.
Tracking dynamic objects
Fusion lets you coordinate object motion and stabilize cameras, track rotoscoping points and brush strokes, so your real-world image and special effects truly come together.
Powerful keying modules
The Delta, Ultra, Chroma, Luma and Differential keying modules will help you create the most perfect combined image.
Vector drawing and rotoscoping
Powerful vector drawing and rotoscoping tools allow you to generate masks for applying effects and correcting individual image elements.
Optical flow analysis
Fusion uses optimized optical flow analysis algorithms to generate motion vectors for frame correction, timing, stabilization, and image transformation.
Stereoscopic 3D Video Tools
Fusion features a suite of cutting-edge image convergence, alignment, and synchronization tools for working with stereoscopic 3D video.
Huge number of filters and effects available
There are many built-in tools to create an unlimited number of effects, which can be used on their own or in Fusion Studio in combination with plugins from other applications.
Virtual reality and 3D
Panoramic view
For interactive work in a virtual reality environment, you can use a special window with a 360º panoramic view or a VR helmet.
Import and render 3D models
Fusion lets you import full 3D models from Maya, 3ds Max, and Cinema 4D, then lighten or darken materials, build complex compositions, and render with GPU acceleration.
Compositing using rich data
OpenEXR files allow you to use the RGB and XYZ coordinates of each pixel, allowing you to interactively combine 2D images with 3D effects.
Scripts and automation
Fusion allows game developers, 3D animators, and digital artists to use its open architecture to extend their own systems. The package supports Python and Lua scripting, which allows you to write scripts to create custom tools, exchange data between Fusion and other applications, automate repetitive tasks, and even add new features!
GPU acceleration
Fusion is incredibly fast and is ideal for those who need to deliver a finished project on a tight deadline. With support for Metal, CUDA, and OpenCL with GPU acceleration, feedback is instant and allows you to see the results of your actions in real time. Fusion also optimizes the use of the graphics card, so you can now focus more on creative tasks and not waste time waiting for the program to respond. Even when processing video in VR, the frame rate of over 90 fps is achieved!
Unlimited rendering capabilities
Fusion uses the fastest rendering platform. To speed up your work, you can render on an unlimited number of computers connected to the same network. There is no volume limit or additional subscription costs. This significantly speeds up the rendering of complex scenes and allows you to shorten the production cycle without compromising the quality and creativity of the process.
Joint creativity in a large team
When collaborating with a large creative team, the color management system and API-based scripting support allow automatic creation of timelines for visual effects review and approval. This allows everyone on the team to share comments, storyboards, versions, and annotations. Fusion Studio also features a shared folder so that everyone can easily access the assets they need for a project without having to copy and track different elements.
