Description
pkg2app Overview
pkg2app is a small application written in AppleScript and created to help install games from GOG whose installers give an error during the installation of games.
Most Mac games from the GOG app store are distributed as packages, or rather files with a .pkg extension. They are very convenient, you just need to double-click on the file and the installation process will begin, but it happens that it ends unsuccessfully and most often this happens with fairly heavy games. This also happens with official .pkg files and the problem is most often not due to your actions.
You can try to extract the game files from the .pkg installer yourself using the standard pkgutil utility or using special programs designed to extract files from .pkg, but the utility developer has already done everything for you.
The utility is very easy to use. When you first launch, a small window will appear with several options for how/where files from the .pkg installers will be extracted (this can also be changed in the application settings). After selecting this setting, simply drag the .pkg file with the problematic game or dlc onto the pkg2app application icon and the extraction of files from the installer will begin.
