Materialize Magics Overview
Magics is professional software from the Belgian giant Materialize, designed to prepare data (models) for 3D printing, as well as manage efficiency throughout the entire additive manufacturing process from data import to post-processing.
Materialize Magics Features
-Import files from most common CAD.
-Correction and preparation of STL files for printing.
-Improving and editing the model to optimize printing.
-Preparation of the print platform, including grading and positioning of the part.
-Improving the quality of printed parts by identifying collisions and errors.
File import and data control.
Regardless of the CAD package you use, Magics supports importing a variety of different formats, including SketchUp, SolidWorks, Rhino, and more.
-Control source data with the ability to import a wide range of different formats.
-Manage the resolution and quality of imported files.
-Loading data on the color of the original parts.
Installation
1. Disconnect the Internet connection from your computer.
2. Run the installation of Magics 27.0, do not run the program after installation.
3. Copy the folders Magics 27.0 and MatConvert 10.4 with replacement, to the folder with the installed
program “\Program Files\Materialise\Magics 27.0\” and “\Program Files\Materialise\MatConvert 10.4\”.
4. In the folder C\Program Files\Materialise\Magics 27.0\ run the Magics file and enter:

5. In the next window that opens, select: “Active or Renew local license” then select “Manual activation and renewal” then Click the “Next” button
You will see a window in which there is your system ID, copy it.
Don’t close the window.
6. Then, using WordPad, open the magics27.matkey file, press CTRL+H and the replacement window will open.

In the line What we insert your ID, which is in the open window.
Click replace all.
Save and close WordPad.
7. In the window from point 5 of these instructions, indicate the path to the modified magics27.matkey file
8. Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
Copy the hosts file to any convenient place, maybe to the desktop.
Open using WordPad
and insert the following lines at the end of the page:
127.0.0.1 users.materialise.com
127.0.0.1 pass.materialise.com
127.0.0.1 materialise.com
127.0.0.1 materialise.be
127.0.0.1 users.materialise.be
127.0. 0.1 pass.materialise.be
127.0.0.1 193.74.100.60
Close the file, save it to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ folder and replace it.
