Kaspersky Overview

Kaspersky Standard | Plus | Premium are new editions of antivirus products from Kaspersky Lab. They are based on the well-known engine of the previous line of Kaspersky antiviruses and a new intuitive interface. These programs provide real-time protection against viruses, Trojans, encryptors, malicious and unwanted programs, dangerous sites and links, network and online threats, and other security threats.

Kaspersky has introduced new cybersecurity solutions that match their vision of modern protection. Antiviruses have received a new interface design and new features. Various plan options are offered with different levels of protection and number of features. All features, both new and long-used, are divided into the main areas of protection – Security, Performance and Privacy.

Kaspersky Features

Kaspersky Standard:
Provides basic protection against viruses, malware, Internet threats, and network attacks. Includes a browser extension that protects against dangerous websites and links. The solution offers additional protection in the form of a firewall, network monitoring, ad blocking and tracking, webcam protection, and other security features. The suite includes OS optimization and acceleration tools, a manager of installed programs, and a file shredder. The subscription also includes mobile device protection.

Kaspersky Plus:
In addition to all the features of Kaspersky Standard, it includes a VPN, backup and file protection tools, a password manager, and a file shredder.

Kaspersky Premium:
Includes identity theft protection, fraud prevention assistance, identity theft insurance, and premium technical support.

Notes

How to return the familiar “K” icon:
In the tray (right, lower corner), right-click on the antivirus icon -> About the program Then type IDDQD
in capital letters on the keyboard. To return the standard icon, repeat the operation.

Switching to English interface:
English interface: shift+f12
Russian interface: shift+f5

Disabling self-defense for applying license in .lic/.dat files:
1. Start the PC in safe mode: Right-click
on Start – Run – msconfig.exe – OK , check the box for reboot.
2. Important! In safe mode, follow step 1, but uncheck the box.
3. Start the registry editor: Right -click on Start – Run – regedit.exe – OK , follow the path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\KasperskyLab\AVP21.16\settings\
In the EnableSelfProtection parameter , change the value to 0, Close the editor and reboot the PC. In normal mode, right-click on the Kaspersky icon in the tray – exit. Apply the license file.
