GIMP Overview
GIMP is an editor that allows you to work with layers, apply various effects, use gradient filters, successfully use custom templates and much, much more.
If you need something else to perform complex professional work, you can significantly expand the capabilities of the program with more than a hundred plugins.
It allows you to work with several open images at the same time, is also endowed with an unlimited number of “forward” – “backward”, supports transparency (alpha channels), can be expanded by external applications and Script-Fu.

GIMP Features
GIMP has a pretty good set of color correction tools:
