Cimatron Overview

Featuring new features across all product areas, this release is a significant release focused on 5 key areas: automation, user experience simplification, productivity, process management, and digital connectivity.

Cimatron Features

Editorial/User Interface
Advanced workflow improvements such as spacing between multiple views, batch processing of drawing updates, tangent control for face aligning, and an easy option to cover interior islands.

The Cimatron 2024 Drawing Batch Update
also features a new graphical user interface for managing drawing standards, improved draft drawing analysis visualization, and automated chamfer face selection in CADena.
CAD users will also benefit from a host of new features for 2D drafting, such as importing PDF files as actual geometry and text, new minimum distance dimensions, improved symbols, and improved Geometric Data and Tolerancing (GD&T).

CAD
Mold makers benefit from powerful CAD enhancements for rib creation, with additional functionality for handling multiple curves in a single operation and automatically extending rib geometry onto the side walls of a part. Additionally, Cimatron 2024 can now create partial ribs in challenging situations where a full rib cannot be manufactured.
In mold design, 3D channel design has been improved, providing greater control over design based on constant volume, vertical orientation, or section orientation.

3D Corridor Design
Electrode design is a critical aspect of the mold manufacturing process. The 2024 release includes automation of the Burn Body operation to optimize electrode body shape, electrode extension control, and no-cutout rules for manual fabrication.
Die designers can now easily create 3D bead geometry to control material flow during the drawing operation and achieve optimal part shape without cracks and wrinkles. A new procedure will generate a bead based on the section type and automatically blend the result on the binding faces.

Camera
The improved Automatic Feed Control (AFC) routine has been completely redesigned and optimizes material removal in roughing operations by automatically controlling the feed rate, resulting in smoother motion, faster machining, longer tool life and fewer changes to the spindle and machine axes. Proof tests using Sandvik Coromant have reduced cutting times on CNC machines by more than 10%.
Automatically use remaining stock for 5-axis operations.
Automatic Feed Control (AFC) in roughing reduces cutting times on CNC machines by more than 10%.
Cimatron 2024 introduces a new 3-axis deburring routine for creating chamfers or fillets along sharp edges. CAM users can create chamfers of constant width or depth, as well as fillets of constant width or radius.
3-Axis Deburring
3-Axis Deburring
For 5-axis machining, the software now allows the automatic use of remaining material from previous 3-axis operations during roughing. This allows shorter cutters to be used for greater stability.
The 5-axis automatic tilting function has been significantly improved: in some cases, the calculation time has been reduced by up to 25 times. This significant increase in efficiency increases productivity and reduces overall machining time.

The new pre-drilling option during roughing prevents cutters from plunging into blind cavities. Cimatron automatically determines the optimal position and depth of the pre-drill as part of the roughing procedure.

The on-machine inspection sensor module now supports multi-point picking and cylindrical sensors, providing more flexible and accurate inspection processes.

Digital Connectivity
Cimatron 2024 places a strong emphasis on digital connectivity and unlocks the power of Sandvik Coromant through direct integration with the CoroPlus® tool library and TDM tool management system.

Cimatron 2024 includes a new integration with NCSIMUL for customers who want to simulate G-code with NCSIMUL. All relevant data such as G-code, parts, stock, fixtures and cutting tools are automatically transferred to NCSIMUL from the Job Manager.

Additional information :
Cimatron 2024 offers a number of new features. These include a new interface for managing drawing standards, a drawing analysis function, and the ability to chain chamfer face selections.

Designers can benefit from CAD when modeling ribs, having the ability to work with multiple curves in a single operation and extend rib geometry to the side walls of a part.

In terms of electrode design, the Cimatron 2024 includes the Burn Body operation, which optimizes the electrode body shape, controls electrode elongation and no-cut rules during manual manufacturing.

This new version of Cimatron supports CAD/CAM machining operations ranging from basic 2D to 5-axis procedures.

The redesigned cutting program with automatic feed control optimizes chip removal during roughing by controlling the feed rate, resulting in smoother movement, reduced machining time, longer cutting tool life and fewer changes to the spindle and machine axes.

In addition, the Cimatron 2024 supports digital connectivity and integrates directly with Sandvik Coromant’s Coro Plus tool library and TDM tool management system.

System Requirements

Note: Only 64-bit operating systems and hardware are supported.
For better I/O performance, it is recommended to use a solid-state hard drive (SSD). Windows and Cimatron must be installed on the SSD.
Data files should be stored on another hard drive, local or network.
based on.

Processor:
Recommended: Quad-core 64-bit processors (Intel Core i7 8th generation and above).

Memory (RAM):
Recommended: 16 GB
Larger Toolkits: 32 GB

Video Card:
Cimatron will check for graphics compatibility during installation.
Starting with version 14, the video card must support OpenGL 3.3.
The graphics compatibility test can also be run from the external Ciamtron control panel.
Graphics Memory:
Minimum: 2 GB of memory.
Recommended: 4 GB of memory.
Quadro cards from NVidia and FireGL/FirePro cards from ATI are the most recommended cards for CAD/CAM software.
The performance of video cards is closely related to the driver version and the amount of memory. The newer the driver and the more memory, the better the performance of the video card.
