Description
ABViewer Overview
ABViewer is a software product for viewing graphic files with the functionality of a professional vector editor. Supports more than 50 raster and vector file formats and 3D image formats. Allows you to create and edit drawings with their subsequent saving in AutoCAD DXF format and a number of other vector and raster formats. It has a multifunctional printing system and provides conversion of a group of files. ABViewer is a lightweight and easy-to-use viewer. The user interface provides quick access to the visualization settings of the displayed file, its scaling and movement, a full-screen viewing mode is provided.
ABViewer Features
ABViewer is a universal and cost-effective application for viewing 2D drawings, raster formats and 3D models. It is a full-featured CAD platform for editing DWG files and other formats. The main features of the program include:
Supported formats
Working with drawing fragments:
- Ability to copy parts of the drawing to the clipboard in both raster (BMP) and vector (EMF) formats.
- The selected area can be printed separately from the rest of the drawing.
- The selected area can be saved to a separate file (DXF, PDF, BMP and other formats).
Editing drawings:
- ABViewer allows you to edit not only standard CAD formats such as DWG and DXF, but also vector files: PLT, SVG, CGM. The program has all the tools of a professional editor, which makes it possible to work in ABViewer as well as in “heavy” editors, such as AutoCAD ™ or Compass.
Conversion options:
- Copying BMP, EMF/WMF data to the clipboard.
- Exporting drawings to BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF raster formats with convenient settings.
- Preserving vector data when exporting to PDF, DXF, PLT, SVG, CGM, SWF, WMF, EMF formats.
- ! Important: when using the Cropping Rectangle tool, conversion will only be performed for the corresponding part of the drawing.
Batch conversion and printing:
- If you have many files that need to be converted to another format or printed, then you do not have to spend a lot of time on this. ABViewer has the ability to simultaneously convert and print in “batch” mode – using the same settings for all files.
Fast loading and scaling of large black and white raster files:
- ABViewer uses know-how for working with 1-bit (black and white) raster formats. Huge files measuring 20 by 15 thousand pixels are loaded in less than a second and scale almost instantly, which is very convenient when working with scanned drawings in TIFF format.
Tools for taking dimensions:
- The ability to quickly and clearly adjust the scale factor for taking measurements – no more additional calculations on the calculator!
- Changing lengths, areas and perimeters.
Working with CAD files:
- You can hide all dimensions or texts with one click of the mouse
- Convenient switching between files
- Snapping to objects has a large number of settings and works not only when editing drawings, but also when using “rulers”
- Measuring distances on a drawing, including setting the scale factor.
- Viewing and editing in 3D mode
- View in six orthographic projections and four isometric views.
- Automatic rotation of the loaded CAD file by a specified angle.
- Working with layers
- Color and black and white modes for CAD files
- Customizable background color
- DWG/DXF/SVG/CGM Arcs and Circles can be drawn as smooth curves and saved in EMF as Arcs and
Ellipses Metafiles, which allows them to be scaled without losing quality - Customizable number of line segments when drawing a circle, arc, ellipse and spline
- Merge drawings into one file.
- Ability to view the structure of CAD files.
- Support for SHX fonts, including UNICODE and BIGFONTS.
Searching for files:
- The Bookmarks and Explorer panels provide quick navigation through files. The Sketches subroutine allows you to view all files in a directory before opening them, including DXF, PLT and other files that are not shown by Windows or regular viewers. You can navigate through files opened in ABViewer very quickly thanks to the modern organization of documents in tabs.
File navigation:
- Dynamic scaling of the drawing using the mouse wheel, similar to AutoCAD™ Text and point search functions will quickly move you to the desired part of the drawing. If you only need the outline of a part in the drawing, you can remove all text or dimensions by pressing one key – now you do not need to open layers and change visibility for this operation.
Redline:
- The Redline mode or drawing comments is additional information that is superimposed on the drawing image, but does not affect the base file. In this mode, you can use all editor elements. Comments can be printed or converted to another format along with the base file. Multiple comment files can be attached to one base file. Additional features of this mode allow you to select the path to save the notes files and ensure their automatic loading.
Print:
- The print function has very wide capabilities. You can print either a single file or a group of files with specified settings. The Preview dialog box contains a large number of settings, for example, you can set the line width, color, and DWG/DXF layers, and define zero width values. Mosaic printing allows you to output images to any number of pages of different formats with the required scale, for example, very large images (A0, A1, etc.) can be divided into many smaller pages of different formats for subsequent gluing into a single canvas. Any element of the mosaic can be printed independently of the others. Thus, if one page is damaged (for example, due to problems with the printer), you can reprint this page separately. In addition to printing the entire file, it is possible to print a selected area (the Cropping Rectangle tool allows you to select the necessary area for printing) and print the visible space. Color drawings can be printed with good quality on a black and white printer (without gray halftones). There is a set of frames for insertion when printing.
- Predefined sizes for standard formats (ISO-A; DIN: A4, A3, A2, A1, A0; US: A, B, C, D, E).
Export to formats:
- Adobe Acrobat Document (*.pdf)
- Adobe Flash (*.swf)
- AutoCAD™ DXF (R2000): (*.dxf)
- Bitmap Files: (*.bmp)
- Computer Graphics Metafile: (*.cgm)
- GIF (*.gif)
- Hewlett-Packard HPGL: (*.plt)
- JPEG: (*.jpg)
- TIFF (*.tiff)
- Scalable Vector Graphics: (*.svg)
- Windows Metafiles: (*.wmf)
- Windows Enhanced Metafiles: (*.emf)
Notes
- Combined installation of the program or unpacking of the portable (portable app format) version in one distribution
- Does not require registration
- Multilingual interface
- The ability to force installation of the 32bit version on an x64 system (sometimes works better)
- The ability to pick up and auto-copy the user’s settings file Settings.ini
- Picks up an external settings file settings.reg (if located next to the installer)
